MED Advocates for YOU
The MED Group has a long history of leadership in advocating for the industry and the people that utilize its products and services. MED’s Government Relations function is focused on monitoring, analyzing, reporting, and influencing legislative and regulatory activities on behalf of its members and their customers.
As part of this responsibility, MED provides timely interpretations, tools, and in-person representation to promote the interests of the HME and Rehab Provider with legislators and other policy makers. MED personnel are also very active in leadership roles with the various industry groups. These include the American Association for Homecare (AAH), the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART), the National Registry of Rehab Technology Suppliers (NRRTS), the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and numerous state associations.
The Member-Only Government Relations area houses a variety of information and tools that can be used to advocate for home medical equipment and rehab companies and the people they serve. It contains the following:
- Legislative Alerts - alerts sent to Members on key legislative matters
- Current Issues - concise summary of current industry issues and their status
- Industry News - library of articles on the industry and related topics
- Engage - website to communicate directly with elected representatives
- Legislative Tools - tools and information that can be used to tell the HME/Rehab story
- Industry Associations - links to the industry’s national and state organizations

Also, you may want to familiarize yourself with the MED Suppliers Network. The MED Suppliers Network is a group of DME suppliers who have met the quality standards and accreditation requirements set forth by CMS and were awarded contracts for Competitively Bid items. Also listed are DME suppliers across the nation who can supply product(s) to Medicare patients who are not currently affected by Competitive Bidding. The DME suppliers in this network are independently and locally owned.
